Access Restrictions
The access tag describes who is allowed to use a facility.
This helps users understand whether they can visit without being a member or customer.
access=yes Open to the public. Anyone can use it without restriction.
Example: A public basketball court in a city park.
access=permissive Open to the public, but the owner could revoke access at any time.
Example: A private sports club that currently allows public use.
access=customers Only for customers or paying visitors.
Example: A tennis court that requires paying an hourly fee.
access=members Only for members of an organization.
Example: A gym that requires a membership subscription.
access=private Only for the owner or authorized persons.
Example: A tennis court in a private residence.
Opening Hours
The opening_hours tag describes when a venue is open.
OSM uses a specific syntax for this — here are common examples:

Fees and Pricing
You can indicate whether using a facility costs money:

fee=yes— There's a fee to use this facility -
fee=no— The facility is free to use -
charge=5 EUR— The specific amount charged (optional)
Booking Information
For facilities that require or allow reservations:

reservation=required— Booking is mandatory -
reservation=recommended— Booking is suggested but not required -
reservation=yes— Reservations are accepted -
reservation=no— No reservation system, first-come first-served
If there's a website or phone number for bookings, add:

Seasonal Availability
Some facilities are only available during certain seasons:

For outdoor venues, lighting affects evening availability:
